Employing a damage-limitation company, well-versed in processes known to limit the physical damage will, of course, result in costs – however it is often actually better to incur such initial costs (which are paid for by your company's insurers) than to absorb them yourself in mopping up (which cannot be claimed additionally as staff are paid anyway).

Attempting to limit the damage in-house locks up your staff who would be better employed in working in your business. The net result of tackling the clean-up yourself may just be that you save your insurers money.
